10 Crew Members Missing As Fire Razes Offshore Facility In Delta

An early morning fire outbreak as left ten crew members of Shebah Exploration & Production Company Ltd (SEPCOL) in  RECEIVERSHIP missing in Ukpokiti, Delta state.

The company announced this in a statement titled “FIRE INCIDENT ON THE TRINITY SPIRIT FPSO” and signed by Ikemefuna Okafor, the Chief Executive Officer.

It was gathered that the fire razed the company’s offshore facility, the FPSO Trinity Spirit on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, with the ten men on board.

The company also explained that aside from the disappearance of the crew members no fatalities have been reported.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire cannot be ascertained, however, the situation is being investigated by the appropriate authorities.
