40 Years-Old Yakubu Arrested For Daughter' Death

Hannafi Yakubu, 40, was arrested in Achiya village, Babura Local Government Area, Jigawa State, for allegedly murdering his 11-year-old daughter, Salima Hannafi.

The incident occurred on February 12, according to ASP Lawan Shiisu, spokesman for the Jigawa Police Command, in a statement issued on Thursday in Dutse.

Salima died on the spot after being slapped by her father, according to the statement.

“Information was received from a source that on the same date at around 0940hrs, one Hannafi Yakubu 40, of Achiya village in Babura LGA, used his hand and beat his daughter Salima Hannafi, 11, of the same address.”

“As a result, she died right there on the spot.” The deceased was taken to the General Hospital in Babura for examination, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor. “The body was photographed and then released for burial,” he explained.
