Not less than 57 residents at the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi, have been arrested last weekend for flouting Covid rules.
According to the Nation Media Group, the lawbreakers were detained at the Kilimani Police Station before being arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts.
“They were released on community service order and are expected to report at 8am to 5pm for the entire week for their services including clean-up of Marikiti and Muthurua markets, Globe, Nairobi River, as will be assigned.”
The offenders were arrested for flouting some of the Covid safety protocols which include; staying out beyond the stipulated curfew hours, failure to use the mask, and failure to adhere with social distancing protocol.
