APC Primary: Ikorodu Chairmanship Aspirants Team up to Unsit Incumbent Chairman
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The political heat in Ikorodu LGA is getting tensed as the scheduled date for the  primary All Progressives Congress (APC) party draws near.

Two aspirants for the Ikorodu LGA chairmanship stool, Hon. Folashade Olabanji-Oba and Hon. Azeez Jimoh teamed up to stop the present Chairman, Wasiu Adeshina, from getting the chairmanship ticket the second time.

In a Press conference held today in Ikorodu, Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba who is presently the vice chairman of the local government and Hon. Azeez Jimoh revealed that they have agreed to form a formidable team tagged “Ikorodu Project.”

Speaking on the reason for the alliance; Princess Folashade said: “For us, today speaks volume about the belief and trust that we have in the process of our great party, APC,  What we are doing here today is to let everyone know that the Ikorodu Project is here to stay. It is beyond anybody’s personal interest, but the interest of our great community, Ikorodu.

So for us, the synergy between us is for the Ikorodu Agenda, and to say we are ready for the Saturday Primaries. We are reassuring our great believers of the party that we will work together for a peaceful, credible and fair election.”

In the same vein, Hon. Azeez said: “We want to assure the good people of Ikorodu that this partnership we are entering today is about the collective interest of Ikorodu, and the project is tagged ‘Ikorodu project.’ It is centred around people’s interest. It would address people’s issues, and we are going to commit ourselves to deliver a brighter and purposeful community.”

A report from a reliable source has revealed that the new team are in talks with the third aspirants, Hon. R. Ajala to join the political alliance.
