On the 27th of July, the trial was adjourned to August 11 and 12, 2021 after the application for adjournment was filed for by the lead counsel to Baba Ijesha, Babatunde Ogala.

However, when TheCable Lifestyle arrived the court on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, the registrar, Ibrahim Hassan announced that the trial would not hold as scheduled, stating that the judges are currently on a retreat.
