Nollywood actor and producer, Yomi Fabiyi, might be prosecuted by the Lagos State for the production of Oko Iyabo movie.
The production of the movie which was based on the sexual molestation allegation levelled against Nollywood actor, James Olanrewaju Omiyinka (Baba Ijesha) by popular Comedienne, Adekola Adekanya (Princess) is currently being investigated.
The attention of the presiding Justice of the Ikeja Special Offences Court, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, was called to the movie today by the Director of Public Prosecution in Lagos State, Mrs Olayinka Adeyemi.
She said Yomi Fabiyi turned deaf ears to the warnings of the court during its June 24-proceedings, which stated that the case was sub judice and, therefore, prohibited from public discussion.
The DPP boss said the movie contravened the Judge’s directives by revealing sensitive information about the case.
“Despite the warnings of this honourable court, an actor called Yomi Fabiyi went ahead and made a movie about the facts of this case.
“He used the real names of the parties and witnesses in this matter in the movie. Our application is to exclude him, his privies and his agents from proceedings in court.
“He is not in court at the moment but his representatives may be in court. This is contempt of court and we intend to prosecute him and bring him before this court,” the Director said.
Justice Oluwatoyin expressed her displeasure on the development and ordered that investigation begins, and if he is found culpable, legal actions would be taken against him.
