Bandits have been reported to have freed three victims of Bethel Baptist High School in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state out of the over hundred students abducted in the early hours of Monday, 5th July 2021.
Recall that TheNewsBeam reported that a teacher at the school identified as Emmanuel Paul reported that gunmen on Monday, 5th July 2021 attacked the Baptist school located at Damishi town of Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State, taking away unconfirmed number of students.
However, the spokesman for Kaduna Police Command, Mohammed Jalige told AFP on Thursday, July 22, 2021, that the bandits were reported to have freed three of the students in their captive.
According to Jalige, he stated that one of the students was freed 10 days ago and two more were released on Wednesday, and are undergoing medical checks.
He further stated that the students will be released to their families after they have received proper medical attention, as they have some health challenges after spending weeks in captivity in the bush.
