The kidnapped schoolgirls of Government Girls’ Secondary School (GGSS) in Jangebe, Zamfara State have been released.
The Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Bello Matawalle disclosed this in a statement on social media on Tuesday, stating that the state scaled “several hurdles laid against our efforts.”
“It gladdens my heart to announce the release of the abducted students of GGSS Jangebe from captivity.
“This follows the scaling of several hurdles laid against our efforts. I enjoin all well-meaning Nigerians to rejoice with us as our daughters are now safe,” the Governor said.
The 317 girls were abducted last Friday in the early hours of the morning by armed men.
