An unknown person backdated the date of birth of Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wikipedia; changed the year of birth from 1952- 1942.

This stirred reactions and confusion on the social media today as the former governor of Lagos State celebrates his 69th birthday ceremony.

The backdating occurred around 11:02 GMT, on the 29th of March, 2021.

At the time of gathering this report, the changes have been reverted by another editor to reflect the former date; March 29, 1952 while the edit lead section of the page has been locked.

See some of the reactions these changes had stirred on the Twitter.

You have the right not to like Tinubu, and if you must start propaganda don't be stupid in doing it. They are changing the information on Wikipedia and still left a footprint. 🤣🤣🤣🤣If them run am jungle level now he go dey shout say them dey find am. pic.twitter.com/PUUlYeQ9vP

Hey! Tinubu boys! You forgot to change his real age with Wikipedia? Why? pic.twitter.com/eHdlA9k4Wt

So, was he born in 1952 or 1942? Is he 69 or 79? Did they forget to clean up their Wikipedia page properly? So many questions.

Happy 89th birthday to the President Nigeria will never have in the name of Jesus, amen🙏 pic.twitter.com/ZTBlV8jjRl
