The Lagos State Government through the Commissioner for Health in the state has disclosed centres where residents might need to pay over N5,000 to get the two doses of Covid-19 vaccines.

Taking to his official Instagram account, the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, disclosed that residents who choose to get vaccinated at private centres will have to pay the sum of N4,500 for a single dose and N6,000 for a double dose.

Lagos State Government had earlier disclosed partnership with at least 135 private health facilities as a part of the state’s mass vaccination strategy in a bid to vaccinate more residents.

The commissioner said, “Administration of vaccines in public vaccination centres are free of charge. However, vaccination at private centres with the administration of two doses of COVID-19 vaccine will attract a service charge of N6,000 while one dose will attract N4,500”.

“Lagos State Ministry of Health wishes to again reassure Lagos residents and the general public that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective,” he added.
