The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, has suspended the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of the party indefinitely.
Akinwonmi who took over the affairs of the party following the restraining order issued against the National Chairman, Uche Secondus, by a Rivers High Court in Port Harcourt on Monday, cited Section 35 (b) of the PDP Constitution to support his action and the suspension.
Recall that PDP has been undergoing internal crisis, which has resulted in some major stakeholders defecting to the opposition party.
This resulted in the party’sBoard of Trustees to set up a committee on August 5 to resolve the party’s crisis.
