Many Nigerians on social media have fumed over the decision of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to launch a digital Naira.

The move was seen as a clueless and a misplaced priority considering the value of the Naira to dollar.

Kenny Lawrence said: “CBN, a barking dog that cannot bite. Charles Soludo came up with a plan that could make the Dollar crash against the Naira, but it never happened. The wealthy and the political elites couldn’t bear seeing, for example, N1M turn to N20k in their bank (Find out how strong Cedi is against Dollar today; a currency so bad Ghanians ran for greener pastures in old Nigeria). Ego got in the way and here we are today with the devaluation that only the poor masses suffer from its strokes. God, save our father land.”

Billionaire Anisafe said: “The Central Bank of Nigeria has turned Nigeria’s economy to a man that was lost on an Island and thirsty for water. We have opportunities to be a global economic driving force but idiocratic policies have left us behind the schedule of Adams Smith’s theory of industrial revolution. I wonder if Emefeli ever read economic history and policies of great economics. Their policies is a myth, so absurd that I just think that those at the helm of affairs are a bunch of idiots, who don’t think. I’m sick of this little thinking. What’s it that made Singapore’s economy viable? Those guys have genuine and dependable financial ideology that worked. Nigeria, copy Singapore, there’s no crime in doing that.🤔🙊🕵️👌”

Ojomo Cleave said: “They banned crypto currency claiming it’s the one responsible for the fall of the naira (failing to admit that they did it to frustrate the organizers of endsars) now they want to introduce their own digital currency? Nigeria my country😂”

Olufemi Adeniran said: The coast is getting clearer. We have seen the leadership stuff of Naija…Thank you for being a best presido with #490 to a dollar,…The best government in the history of the country where the economy is making good waves….Kai! I weep for my country.

Oluwa Bammy Bundle said: “5naira was useless in Nigeria soon 20 naira is useless as sachet water turns 20naira soon 50 naira will be worthless, this kind of thing has killed our economy but soon  no problem Sha we go Waka our different ways ….. Bye bye Nigeria till we meet no more.. Useless leaders.”

Ogunronbi Gladys said: “Indeed, I thought one naira will be equal to one dollar by now, but alas,we are still at 490 per dollar isn’t God wonderful?

These people are so clueless and they are still ignorant in their cluelessness, make una just leave us alone biko, enough of empty promises,it has not even gotten to the end point be eat assured that it will still go up… all these clueless CBN governor and finance minister sef, they deserve to be flogged at market square… you people should just get out abeg…”
