Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye today, took to his official twitter account to blast the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, over the latter’s comments on thuggery and security in Nigeria.
Bello, during an interview on Channels Television this morning, had posited that the country will be safer if politicians put an end to the use of thugs and hoodlums during elections.
“When politicians begin to stop the use of thugs, touts or some group of criminals, that is when we will begin to have safety and security in our land,” the governor said.

He added that thugs, who were used and dumped by politicians during elections metamorphosed into “hydra-headed monster” and criminal elements who now terrrorise Nigerians.
Reacting to this statement, Dino Melaye hinted that the governor heads politicians who indulge in such practices, adding that Bello was showing symptoms of certain mental illnesses for making such comments.
“Yahaya Bello’s public condemnation of thuggery, an institution where he is the Vice Chancellor is a serious sign of psychotic disorder and mental inherited hormonal imbalance!”, Melaye tweeted.
The politician is, however, not the only Nigerian that have faulted the governor’s statement.

SEGA L’éveilleur @segalink: I am tired of the bold faced hypocrisy of our politicians. It’s like the man who raised an alarm in church about dropping his beer after seeing another guy light a cigarette in the midst of the service.
K. £. N. N. ¥ @kennyakanbiNigeria politicians are definition of devil. Knows the truth but will still lead people to hell and after back out. I only pity those youths who have been sacrificed for their ambitions.
Sunky WDG General@sunkyboz·one major and serious problem we have in Nigeria is that everyone knows how to play victim but posterity will come back one day. Imagine yahaya Bello sef dey spew out like say he isn’t d father of thugs.
