Former Nigeria goalkeeper Dosu Joseph has stated that lack of good communication from the Eagles defense line played a major factor on the outcome of the game against the “leone stars of sierra leone.
The super Eagles of Nigeria failed to capitalize on a 4-1 lead into the half time against the leone stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Friday Nov, 13th. The game stated on a bright note for the eagles with the first goal of the game coming from Everton player Alex Iwobi in the 4th minute of the first half, Victory Osimhen doubled for the eagles in the 21st minute with Iwobi scoring his second on the night in the 27th minute of the game, Villarreal CF player Samuel chukwueze was also on the score sheet for the eagles in the 29th minute before the visitors pulled one back through Kwame Quee.
The leone stars gave a good account of themselves at the start of the second half with three goals from Al-Hadji kamara and Mustapha Bundu which ended the game in a draw.
Ex international Dosu joseph is of the opinion that lack of good communication by the eagle’s defenders affected the outcome of the game.
Dosu in a chat with TheNewsBeam after the game stated that the outcome of the game was a shock to many and was unexpected.
He however said the Dusseldorf base goalkeeper Maduka Okaye should not be blamed for conceding 4 goal on the night but rather the team should be encouraged and hope for the best in the return fixture on Tuesday in Freetown, Sierra leone.
The Atlanta 96 gold medalist aslo advice that coach Gernot Rohr should be consistent in his goalkeeping selection so as to bring stability to the team.
Dosu in his statement was hopeful that the Eagles will get a good result from the return fixture come Tuesday 17th of Nov 2020.
