Nominations for the 64th annual Grammy awards are here and Nigerian fast-rising artiste, Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, has booked her spot on the list.
The 26-year-old’s nomination is ushered by her feature on Ayodeji Balogun, a.k.a Wizkid’s chart-topping “Essence”.
The duo is in competition in the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ category alongside fellow artistes, Burna Boy and Femi Kuti.

Like Tems, Burna boys nomination stems from his collaboration with the legendary Angelique Kidjo on ‘Do Yourself’.
Femi Kuti, however, got on the list with his track, “PÀ PÁ PÀ”.
Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album and ‘Legacy +’ by Femi and Made Kuti also feature in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category.
