Femi Falana’s law chamber, currently representing the late Sylvester Oromoni family, has called on the Lagos State Police Command to invite controversial Nigerian blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, over claims that Sylvester willingly joined a cult.
It should be recalled that The News Beam had earlier reported that Sylvester’s father explained that the 12-year-old had died after being allegedly tortured at the school premises by cultists for his refusal to join the fraternity.
Kemi had taken to social media to allege that Oromoni agreed to become a member of a cult at Dowen College located in Lekki. She also stated that he allowed himself to be beaten and fed engine oil which ultimately led to his death.

In a letter signed by Taiwo Olawanle dated December 13, 2021, the law firm demanded that the Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Lagos, question Olunloyo and investigate her allegations.
Solicitors for the family of the deceased student claimed that Kemi Olunloyo tried to destroy Oromoni’s name on social media.
The letter read, “Although the students and staff of the College suspected to have played a role in the brutal murder of Sylvester Oromini have made useful statements to the Police. One Ms. Kemi Olunloyo has just introduced another twist to the incident”.

“According to a false statement credited to her, Ms. Olunloyo claimed that ‘Sylvester Oromoni wanted to join the cult, he agreed to be beaten and drank engine oil as part of the initiation process. Ms. Olunloyo recorded her false statement and has been circulating the same on social media in a wicked manner with the sole purpose of diverting attention from the ongoing investigation by the Police”, it added.
