FIDSON PLC Appoints 3 New Directors to Its Board

Fidson Healthcare Plc has announced Dr. Vincent Ahonkhai, Mr. Ekwunife Okoli and Mr. Ola Ijimakin has its new directors.

The announcement was made on the Nigerian Stock Exchange’s (NSE) official website in a statement signed by the company’s Secretary, J. A. Adebanjo, FCIS.

The Statement which was dated 6 January 2020 with the title “ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE NIGERIAN STOCK EXCHANGE APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTORS” notified NSE of the appointment which took effect on the 1st of January 2021.

The appointment followed after a Board meeting was held at Fidson Healthcare Plc on the 9th of December 2020.

Here is the profile of the new Directors:

1. Dr. Vincent Ahonkhai, FAAP: Dr. Ahonkhai is an expert in Global Health and biopharmaceutical Research and Development.

He is currently an independent Consultant and Principal at Gwynedd Consultancy, LLC in Pennsylvania, the USA from where he consults for organisations like Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation amongst others.

He will bring to the board, experience in Research & Development which is crucial to the development of the pharmaceutical industry. He was appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director.

2. Mr. Ekwunife Okoli: Mr. Okoli is versatile in the field of Sales and Marketing, having worked for many years in the FMCG industry.

He was an Executive Director, Marketing at Diageo Plc. He was also Managing Director of the same company in Cameroun and Ghana and Managing Director for Africa and Regtonal Markets. He is an experienced Non-Executive Director who sits on the Board of Cornerstone Insurance Plc.

He is married to Mrs. Unoma Okoli and blessed with four children. He is expected to enrich the expertise in the Sales and Marketing department. He was appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director.

3. Ola ijimakin: Mr. Ijimakin joined the organization (Fidson Healthcare Ltd) in July 2002 as Regional Manager in the North-eastern region. He graduated from the University of Jos in 1994 where he was awarded a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree.

He won the prize for the best graduating student in Pharmacy among other prestigious awards. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Business School Netherlands, Buren (2014) where he finished with a distinction.

Ola is a seasoned professional who has grown through the ranks over the years. He served as Group Marketing Manager from May 2005 to December 2006; General Manager, Marketing from Aprit 2011 to May 2016 and General Manager, Sales and Marketing from May 2016 till date.

Over the years, as GM Sales & Marketing, his drive for results reflected in more than a 100% revenue sales growth from N7.6bn to over N17bn. He is vastly experienced, having served in large corporations both at home and abroad. He is a fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.

His appointment as Commercial Director is a testament to the hard work and commitment he has shown consistently over the years. He was appointed as an Executive Director, Commercial.
