The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has announced that it’s in the process of closing 42 Microfinance Banks.

As disclosed on the official website of NDIC, the process started on November 12, 2020 with the Central Bank of Nigeria revoking the operating licenses of the Microfinance Banks.

In order to complete the process of closing the banks, NDIC is inviting insured depositors, creditors and shareholders of the banks to visit the address of the banks to collect their claims.

Depositors are directed to meet NDIC officials at the bank’s address from Monday, December 21 2020 to Thursday, December 24, 2020 to verify their claims.
