– 36 States including the FCT shared N2.30trn
The Federation Account Allocation Committee allocated N4.79 Trillion to the Federal Government and States including the FCT in 2020.
Disclosing this in a statement by The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) and reported by The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS.
“The FAAC disbursed N2.49 trillion to the Federation account in 2020 while States and local government shared N2.30trn within the period under review.”
According to the report, the highest fund allocated to the Federation Account monthly was N243.45 billion which was allocated in January, 2020.
“The months with the highest Net Allocation were January and August with N243.45 billion and N232.34 billion respectively, while the least amount disbursed to the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2020 were in December and November with N160.59 billion and N176.29 billion respectively.”
On the other hand, Delta State received the highest revenue in 2020 followed by Akwa Ibom State. They received N186.83 billion and N146.27 billion respectively.
“While Osun and Cross River States received the least allocation of N30.63bn and N32.89bn respectively.”
