How Green Africa Threatens Domestic Airline Services with N16,500 Airfare
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Following its pre-sales approval by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Green Africa Airlines breaks into the domestic airline service with #16,500 airfare.

The start-up airline service which is scheduled to launch on June 24, 2021 has announced N16,500 as its flat rate to and from Lagos.

Green Africa Airlines which operates from the Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos, has 2 fleets and presently operates 7 routes which include LAGOS, ABUJA, PORT HARCOURT, OWERRI, ENUGU, ILORIN, and AKURE.

Airfare LAGOS-ABUJA by Other Airline Companies

Arik Air operates on a double class – economy class and business class. The fare from LAGOS-ABUJA costs N38,300 and N69,800 for Economy and Business classes respectively.

Air Peace charges as low as N38,800 and N55,500 for the same trip. Also, Dana Air charges N35,100 for Economy Class and N72,900 for Business class.

While Aero Contractors LAGOS-ABUJA flight tickets for Economy and Business classes cost N43,032 and 90,312 respectively. Max Air on the other hand charges N31,000 and N75,000 for Economy and Business classes.

Azman Air charges N35,500 for LAGOS-ABUJA flight. Ibom Air’s lowest cost for the same trip is N46,000.

Average cost of LAGOS-ABUJA flight is N38,176 and N72,702 for economy class and business class respectively.

How Green Africa Threatens Mass Transit and other Airlines with N16,500

No doubt, the incessant abductions of interstates road travellers in the country, and the introduction of a very affordable flight cost by Green Africa Airlines will pose a threat to mass transit operations.

A look at the average cost of transportation by road from Lagos to Abuja is 8,000.

An average Nigerian would rather choose to add some little amount to her planned transport fare to purchase a flight ticket as far as her risk of getting into the hands of abductors would be reduced.

Airlines may be threatened by this rate. As Green Africa Airlines is set to take over the industry with its new marketing strategy. Though, its 2 fleets capacity might deprive its total dominance of the domestic airline service.
