Popular Hip hop rapper, Jude Abaga known as MI, has launched a campaign tagged ‘#IAmIgboToo’ to resist intimidation by the Presidency against the Igbo tribe.
Since President Buhari and his fellow older generation are experienced enough to know how to deal with the consequences of civil war. The young generation who only read about the atrocities that come with the war have begun to make moves to avert such heinous war.
Confirming the preparedness of the older generation for another genocidal attack on the Igbo tribe, the President reminds Nigerians in a tweet which was deleted by Twitter for flouting its regulations.
The deleted tweets of the president reads in part. “Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”
This called for wide criticisms and agitations by youths to resist the president’s plan to repeat history again.
The responses of many Nigerian youths to the President’s tweet have shown that irrespective of the differences, they are not ready for another genocidal attack. With records showing that the 30-months civil war in the country which commenced in 1967 left millions of Biafra dead, properties destroyed and many homeless.
One of the several ways adopted by the Nigerian youths is the call for the suspension of the President’s Twitter handle which Jack granted partially by deleting the tweet.

IAmIgboToo is a term used by the Jos-born rapper to show solidarity with fellow Igbo.
Although, he is a Northerner by origin. But he has chosen to identify with the Igbo tribe.
Many non-igbo on Twitter have also identified with M.I as they trended the hashtag #IAmIgboToo. See some of them below.
