Igboho's Wife Kidnap: Presidency Faces Criticisms
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Nigerians have begun to point accusative fingers at President Muhammad Buhari for the attack on the residence of Yoruba right activist, Sunday Igboho.

In a statement by the leader of the Yoruba self-determination group, Ilana Omo Oodua, Prof. Stephen Banji Akintoye, confirmed the attack on Sunday Igboho and the abduction of his wife.

Akintoye said “the assailants were all dressed in military uniform and spoke French language fluently, they killed seven occupants in the building and whisked Igboho’s wife and several others away.”

This has stirred an uproar among many citizens and critics on social media. The Presidency was blamed for the attack in order to provoke the activist and forestall the scheduled protest in Lagos.

Fola Adeboye said: “The same reasons Nnamdi Kanu left the country then. This government never learns from history. Why attack his house when you can just send him an Invite. They are just killing our people down south while they romance their bandits.”

Dave Man said “So far the government doesn’t know the important things but to attack the peaceful citizens… criticism to your administration is an opportunity to correct errors and rebuild…. I hope this stupidity of killing and tormenting peaceful citizen end someday”

Ogbuchi Okwuchukwu Ethel said: “The greedy Southern Politicians we have are the causes of all these atrocities that these foolish Janjaweeds are been melting to all Southern citizens”

Bethel Achamen said: “I still maintain that this kind of unwarranted attack prompted the series of retaliatory attacks on soldiers and other security agencies by unknown Gunmen for some time now.”

Sixtus Sobechi Obasi said: “This is the reality of Nigeria. A place where the government uses the security operatives to kill and destroy citizens properties they are supposed to safeguard…”

Olakunke Ogundare said: “Buhari is good at doing this to agitators but incapable of doing that to bandits and his Fulani killers brothers… Keep doing it, your time is near.”

Dc Abiodun Adeoye said: “What’s the difference between this APC democratic Government and the military junta of Gen Abacha regime? Does democracy mean absence of freedom of speech, opinion and movement? Does it means or tantamount to sectionalism, insensitivity,  intimidation, kidnapping, assassinations, abductions, territorial invasions, arsons, genocide, criminality nepotism, fanatism, oppressions, murders, ethnic cleansing, corruption, hypocrisy, deceptions, lying, hunger, cultism and subjugation?”
