Iyabo Ojo's Ban: Mixed Reactions as Jide Kosoko Clarifies Statement
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Mixed reactions have welcomed the clarification statement of Veteran Nollywood actor and secretary of the Theatre Arts Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) Chief Jide Kosoko.

Jide Kosoko had recently said he would Frustrate Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing in the Industry during a press conference organised by TAMPAN.

In his clarification message, he said he has no power to bring them down since he is not God.

In reaction to this, his fans and critics have shared their views on the statement.

@hon_falegan_official_ said: “Having seen Baba Jide Kosoko’s recent interview, I am convinced that his actions were popular misconceptions whilst also commending him for making a perspective clarification from a “father to his daughters approach” which is shown as tough correctional measures for his children in the entertainment industry. It shows he meant no harm but was just emotional about the recent activities in the industry he has built over the years. Thank you for making those clarifications Sir. May your days be long in wisdom and grace Sir (ODF).”

@mimiscloset00 said: “Sir, you said daddy Olofa Ina was carried away with emotion, don’t you think Iyabo Ojo too was carried away with emotion by including everyone in the association?”

@youngbravolegacyfx said: “Daddy it’s the media and the yeye bloggers that are trending rubbish… I watched the whole video and I understand your point… God will continue to bless you. Agba oni tan ni orile.”

@omoyeni_oteni_ara said: “Could it be that you have said all these in an open conference, people won’t be mad at you sir you forgot to join the clip whereby you talk about Nkechi’s suspension and Mr Latin said she’s not part of the TAMPAN then you hit the table gbam that u can frustrate them out of the industry then tell all the directors of TAMPAN not to work with them… that’s too harsh. Even Mr Latin was being cautious of what to say, he said reluctantly that these people aren’t part of the TAMPAN…”

@aadam2196 said: “Agba o ni tan ni orile, I understand your points sir, sanity is lost and it’s what you’re trying to put in place, everybody is a sinner so no one has the sole right to castigate others or stigmatize them. God bless you sir and other veteran actors and actresses.”

@khohko1 said: “Your words were clarified enough from the first instance and I think everyone with an open mind would understand you. This new video is not necessary for me but I thank you for coming out to give more clarity just in case people that needed to be taught something two or three times before they assimilate things…. Well done sir.”

@kudmat_clothings said: “I didn’t even listen to the whole conference video then, but I knew there was more to it. Watching this now explains it all. We youths of today need to calm down, Yara gboro Lora fi esi. It is so disheartening the way we jump into conclusions and are quick to insult. May God guide and help us. Thanks for the clarity sir and the affected parties should go and redeem themselves.”

@martins_ayoola said: “I’ve known you to be a very blunt and straightforward man since I’ve been seeing you off air and I’ve understood your point from that very day the press conference took place.”

@adebayo_adeyemo1 said: “When Bubu said lazy youth… We were angry but truth is, most of the people that insinuated the release as support for the alleged Bàbá ljesà either didn’t watch the complete video or have comprehension problems. They already make up their minds with what to believe and nothing is going to change that. It is sad what we have turned this noble social media to.”

@olori_olatokeadunni said: “But daddy are you saying only Iyabo Ojo will be punished by the association? It takes two to tangle sir, what about yomi fabiyi, what about legemiami, has an association. I believe all four of them are supposed to be corrected, sanctioned, fined and suspended for taking Baba ijesha’s issue the way they took it. Instead of only dealing with the women, what happened to the men? We all saw all that Yomi Fabiyi posted and we saw videos too. You don’t beat one child and draw the other nearer.”

@bobankky said: “I understood that conference speech you gave Sir and am sure many people too did but chose to read it the other way. God bless you real Good Sir…May ur days be long.”

@ayobami_6307 said “If there is a thing I picked from the 1st press conference, Adebayo Salami’s clarification and this clarification, it is the fact that the TANPAM has some soul searching and house cleaning to do and the earlier that is done the better for everyone.”
