Registrar of the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede has warned universities to desist from awarding certificates to individuals who do not attend their Institution.
This was disclosed in his speech at the opening ceremony of the National Youth Service Corps 2021 batch B pre-mobilisation workshop in Abuja on Tuesday June 29.
The registrar who stated the consequence of awarding fake university certificates to people, revealed that such action is dangerous to the development of the education system in the country.
He also disclosed that many people are not happy with the introduction of National Identity Number (NIN) as a pre-requisite to sit for the examination as it had crashed malpractice, especially impersonation of candidates
Recall that TheNewsBeam reported that Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) mandated all candidates applying for its 2021 UTME to provide their National Identity Number (NIN) at the point of registration.
