Gunmen have reportedly invaded the Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi (FUAM) in Benue on Sunday, kidnapping some students.
The Interview reported that the incident occurred on Sunday night when gunmen stormed the campus.
Reports also stated that the gunmen shot sporadically to scare the university security away before taking some students to an unknown destination.
It was also reported that the university’s Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations Unit (IPPR), Mrs Rosemary Waku, confirmed this on Monday morning.
She also added that, “The University has reported the incident to the police and all relevant security agencies. The University has not heard anything from the students or their captors since the unfortunate incidence took place”.
