Today, Nigeria started to administer the first dose of the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine as efforts heighten to fight the pandemic.
The first shot of the vaccine was given to Cyprian Nyong, a medical doctor at the National Hospital, Abuja.
According to The Cable, the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) Faisal Shuaib, administered the dosage.
He said the doctor has been on the frontline since Nigeria’s first case of COVID-19.
