There have been an outburst on social media after the death of a five-year-old pupil, Hanfia Abubakar, who was abducted and later killed by her school’s propietor.

Abdulmalik Tanko, the Propietor of Noble Kids Nursery and Primary School, Kawana, Kano, had allegedly conspired with others to abduct Hanifa last December.

She was whisked away in a tricycle at Kawaji community in Yankaba area of Kano metropolis.

Kano police spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, explained in a statement that the suspects demanded a ransom of six million naira before killing the child because she recognises the teacher.

He added, “Hashim also confessed that, sometimes in the month of November, 2021, the principal suspect, Abdulmalik met him and one Fatima Jibreel Musa, ‘f’, 27 years old, of Layin Falaki Tudun Murtala Quarters, Nassarawa LGA Kano State and ordered them to kidnap Hanifa. They planned but later rescinded their action. Fatima was also arrested”.

The body was exhumed and rushed to Mohammed Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital Kano, examined, confirmed dead by a Medical Doctor and release to the relatives for burial according to Islamic rites”, the Policeman concluded.

See how Nigerians have reacted:

The Kano Anti-Kidnapping Law states that anyone that kidnaps someone & the victim dies in the process death penalty is the punishment for the kidnapper! I call for the death penalty for the barbarians that kidnapped & killed this little angel #JusticeForHanifa 😪 pic.twitter.com/dj1HoGtwMd
