LG Polls: Electorates Blame Poor Governance, for Low Turnout
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

As the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) laments low turnout in the just concluded LG Polls.

Some Nigerians on social media have blamed poor governance as a reason for not turning out for the LG Polls.

Failure to provide basic social amenities, infringement on the fundamental rights of the citizens which include protest, are some of the reasons many failed to exercise their franchise rights.

Idowu said: “What are they expecting from us things are not working fine in Nigeria, I can’t waste my precious time to something am not happy with, government are after agitators, citizens has know right to pretest, no good roads, electricity, heath sectors is not functioning well ,but government can grants bandits, boko harams and herdsmen amnesty …”

Christian Igbokwe said: So everybody has right now to cast their votes but has no right to protest against such leaders he took time to vote in, Isn’t it madness? Nigeria is not workable jaree!

Eromose Gabriel said: “Oh, I see, the election period has come again where the people matter to all the very selfish politicians. Where they use the people only for electoral purposes, and blatantly, callously, dump them afterwards till another four gruelling years of being neglected, pauperized, isolated from developments, ostracized from progress, dehumanized, oppressed, and left to grope in the dark. The people are completely disenfranchised and grossly disappointed in voting. For over 60 years, Nigeria still can’t get it right. With wastages of natural and human resources only to showcase, then it can’t be right. Dividing of Nigeria. Yoruba Nation, is the way forward. The earlier, the better for the South West.”

John Egbe said: “When people still had the love to vote politicians were making fun of the elections through rigging. Now that no one is voting is the best time to rig. Just give yourselves figures as you are used to doing.”

Krista Revera said: “Why pleading to people to vote deceiptive politician, we are not more a fool whom election help, no job, no food, no power supply, killings our brothers day and night nothing like safety so your government has totally failed , no election 2023 Yoruba nation must stand, crazy government, killer government.”

Sunday Timothy said: “Is this one election or SELECTION? An election in which other political parties can’t win except APC as far as Lagos State is concerned…. Rubbish!!!”

Seun Falade said: “We all know that the Lagos poll is heading towards one direction which is APC earning all the votes, no be today! E don tey.”
