Real Madrid winger Lucas Vázquez has rejected the first offer from the club.
A few months ago it was clear that Lucas Vázquez’s playing time at Real Madrid had ended, but the winger has surprised both as a full-back and in his natural position. He is another totally different player and this has led to the talks of contract renewal.
Lucas’ contract ends on 30th June and at the start of the season, there were doubts about his continuity. Only the insistence of Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane, who always trusted him, kept his options open, and in the end, he has ended up winning him over.
For that reason, with the arrival of the new year, Real Madrid have got down to work with the extension of his contract. The Madrid board has already offered him a new contract which according to ‘Marca’, the Galician has rejected.
Although Lucas Vázquez is happy at Madrid and wants to continue, but conditions that the club has offered him with this deal haven’t convinced him, and according to what was published, the issue will not be resolved in the short term.
In these moments, after the first negative answer, Lucas and Madrid have given themselves a deadline to think about things. Soon, the club will make a new offer to his agents for him to stay.
“This is a matter of two,” said Lucas Vázquez after the match against Celta. Carvajal’s absence catapulted him into the starting line-up at RIght wing back playing position where he began to dazzle in the ‘Clásico’, and now he looks like he’s at his best as a winger.
