A 32-year-old drunk South Korean man was sentenced to three years in prison for putting liquid bathroom cleaner into another patient’s intravenous drip line for unknown reasons while in the hospital for burn treatment.

According to sources, the man committed the crime in March 2021 at a hospital in Daejeon, about 160 kilometers south of Seoul.

The patient complained of chest pains after the infusion, and a nurse changed the IV solution, but the man put the cleaner back into the line about an hour later, according to the sources.

The victim, on the other hand, experienced chest pain, substance poisoning, and organ dysfunction.

The defendant, who was reportedly drunk at the time, claimed the disinfectant could clean blood vessels.

He has a history of criminal activity, including breaking and entering while intoxicated in August 2020 and leaking liquid petroleum gas in front of another person’s house.
