Veteran Nollywood actor and National President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan (Mr Latin), has blamed the National Film Video Censors Board (NFVCB) for approving movies promoting immoral acts.
Speaking during an Instagram live session with popular blogger, Dr Esther Aboderin (ESABOD).
Reacting to the position of TAMPAN on Baba Ijesha’s sexual molestation allegation, he said the association like every other responsible organisation all over the world does not condone such acts.
He added that severe punishment would be served should the court finds him guilty.
Mr Latin also commented on the rampant cases of immoral and illegal scenes in many movies such as drug abuse, smoking, illicit sexual scenes and many more.
The president said: “the government is to be blamed, because every movie produced is submitted to the appropriate governmental body for approval.
“We as an organisation have no influence on the approval of movies and monitoring of movies produced because we cannot be at all the locations. We have only been imploring our members to produce responsible movies, while the censor board on the other hand scrutinises the work before it gets to the public.”
