Natty Of New Masquerade Dies At 79

Veteran Nollywood actor, Romanus Amuta is dead.

Amuta rose to the limelight after playing Natty in the soap opera, The New Masquerade.

Chukwuma Amuta, the diseased son announced his death to The News Agency of Nigeria.

According to him, the legendary actor had died in a hospital on February 9 after a protracted illness.

“Yes! My father died this morning in Lagos after a protracted illness”, Chukwuma said.

The actor is survived by his wife Cordelia and six children.

Amuta was an indigene of ukana in Udi LGA of Enugu. He worked with Daily Times before venturing into the movie industry.

Amuta also features in other Nollywood movies like Lion Finger in 2003, Eagles Bride in 2005, and Ijele in 1999 before his death.
