Nigeria has become the first country in the world where the World Health Organisation‘s mobile application for Coronavirus disease will be in use.
This was announced in a tweet on the official account of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC also disclosed that the country had supported its development.
“We’re pleased to share that the new @WHO #COVID19 mobile app, now available in Nigeria. Nigeria is the first country where this app is in use & we’re pleased to have supported its development”, NCDC tweeted.
The World Health Organization (WHO) launched this mobile application on December 28, 2020 to provide users with the latest updates on the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Called the WHO Covid-19 app, it seeks to keep the users updated on the latest COVID-19 news, from vaccine progress to global statistics, from both the WHO and its partners.
The app works on all phones and tablets running iOS 9.0 and Android 4.4 and up. This includes most phones released since 2011.
