The Nigerian Government has issued a threat to Benin Republic if it failed to approve the extradition of Sunday Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho) to Nigeria.
According to a government source, the Federal Government has vouched to do all it could to ensure the extradition of Sunday Igboho.
Any move to fraught the extradition process by the Benin Republic government will likely lead to a diplomatic cold war that could involve not reopening the borders.
Igboho was arrested on Monday, July 19 at the Cardinal Bernardin International Airport in Cotonou while trying to fly to Germany after being declared wanted by the Directorate of State Service (DSS) following a raid on his residence in Ibadan on July 1.
