Widespread reactions by Nigerians have continued to follow the recent report that EndSars protesters invaded the Sapele prison “White House” in Benin, Edo State. The prison break resulted into a number of prisoners allegedly regaining their freedom and roaming the streets. Most Nigerians who reacted however said that such prison break could not have been the handwork of unarmed protesters or even hoodlums. Those familiar with the inner workings of Nigerian prisons insist that such prison break cannot be successful without the involvement of prison staff.

Meanwhile, this incident has led the state government to impose an indefinite curfew in the state. This curfew takes effects from 4PM today, as disclosed through a statement released on the official twitter handle of the Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki. The government states that schools and businesses are to be on lockdown as a measure of preventing the issue from escalating.
