Oriwu Model College has been rewarded with a brand new bus for emerging best public school in Nigeria.
According to Ikorodu News Network, the school was ranked the best for meeting the essential criteria set by the award committee in Abuja.
Receiving the bus on behalf of the school at the 2020 Teachers Day Celebration in Abuja, the Lagos State Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District II and District IV, Mrs. Anike Adekanye, commended the effort of the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu, for prioritising Education.
She further commended the effort of parents and call for their continuous support towards the proper education of their children.
Oriwu Model College had bagged an international award as an outstanding school of the Decade in the 2020 African Top Schools Award Ceremony which held in Lagos on March, 2020.
Oriwu Model College is the first secondary school in Ikorodu; established in May 1949.
