The Guinness World Record Breaker for the “Longest Dance Party,” Kafayat Shafau-Ameh, professionally known as Kaffy has been conferred a honorary doctorate degree by Escae Benin University, Benin Republic.
She was honoured for being a “pioneer in the business of dance in Africa.” She shared this on her Instagram page
“I’m humbled to be decorated this afternoon by Escae Benin University with Honorary Doctorate in recognition as a ‘pioneer in the business of dance in Africa’.”
She also wrote that she dedicates the honour to the dance industry and everyone who dreams of becoming great in life.

Since her record as the longest dancer at the Nokia Silverbird Dancethon in 2006, she had been changing the narratives of the local ‘alajota’ – ‘street dancers’ to a lucrative business across the continent through her establishments which include the Imagneto Dance Company, The Dance Workshop and many more.
