The Department of Petroleum Resources has launched a Downstream Remote Monitoring System (DRMS) to track the movement of products of oil and gas from depots to retail outlets.
This was disclosed on the official website of the Department on Thursday.
DRMS also known as e-Station is an inventory and regulatory tool that tracks product level across retail outlets and depots.
The system also tracks the movement of product from depots to retail outlets using a USSD code *7117#.
Speaking about the digital transformation of the industry, the Director/CEO of DPR Engr. Auwalu Sarki in his address stated that,
“The Nigerian Oil and Gas industry is witnessing digital transformation in line with Presidential mandate for transparency, accountability and domestic energy security as well as ministerial key priorities for products sufficiency and availability.”
He added that DRMS will provide real time data for investment purposes and optimized business decisions.
