UPDATE: Finally! Omah Lay, Tems Safely Arrive Nigeria House in Uganda

Nigerian artistes, Omah Lay, Tems and Muyiwa Awoniyi have arrived the Nigeria House in Uganda, after their release from the Ugandan Prison.

UPDATE: Finally! Omah Lay, Tems Safely Arrive Nigeria House in Uganda

The artistes who were arrested on the 13th of December 2020, for the violation of Covid-19 rules in the country, have been freed today, December 15th, 2020.

Their release was disclosed on the official twitter handle of the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commissions (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, stating, “Breaking : And finally, @Omah_Lay⁩ arrives to the safe hands of officials of the Nigerian mission in Uganda”.

In a separate tweet, Dabiri-Erewa also revealed the release of Tems stating “Breaking: Temilade ( Tems) has been freed and handed over to the Nigerian mission in Uganda. Omah lay @Omah_Lay is expected soon”.

However, The Chief Magistrate’s Court Of Makindye In The Republic Of Uganda earlier today ordered the release of the artistes.

The order which was signed by the Magistrate Grade One Officer, Okumu Jude Uwone reads in part,

“The charges against the accused Ay STANLEY OMAR DIDIA and As MUYIWA AWONTYI., has been withdrawn against them Vide Withdrawal Form Serial No, 4292 dated 15° December 2020.

“This is to direct you to release As MUYIWA AWONIYI and Ar STANLEY OMA DIDIA the said accused persons from your custody forthwith unless held on charges.” The Order stated.
