Unilag Graduates 1,183 Students With Third-Class

1,183 of 7,799 students will graduate in the Third-class division from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka. 

Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, disclosed this at the 52nd pre-convocation briefing on January 12, 2021.

‘’A total of 12,217 graduating students will receive their degrees, diplomas, and certificates; out of this number, 7,799 will receive first degrees or diplomas while 4,418 will receive postgraduate degrees.’’

Ogundipe added that 238 graduating students also obtained First Class honours in different courses. He noted that the Faculty of Engineering led with 63 First Class graduates and that the Faculty of Pharmacy, Basic Medical Sciences, and Clinical graduated produced 36 students with Distinctions.

Adding to that, he said 2,454 students graduated in the Second-Class Upper Division, while 3,459 obtained Second-Class Lower Division, adding ‘’we also have 1,183 students graduating in the Third-Class Division.’’

According to Ogundipe, the overall best graduating student in the first-degree category for 2019/2020 is Elizabeth Osereme Ekeoseye, of Faculty of Science, Department of Zoology (Environmental Toxicology and Conservation Option) with 4.95 CGPA.
