Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, has directed the Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to screen Lauretta Onochie, and 5 other nominees for confirmation as INEC National commissioners.
Despite blatant facts which proved Lauretta Onochie partisan and unworthy.
Recall TheNewsBeam gathered some of Lauretta Onochie’s tweets that confirm her unbending support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Click the link below to see some of her tweets.
After about eight months the screening procedure was shelved by the Senate, due to public outcry against Lauretta on several media particularly Twitter. The Red Chamber has been asked to revisit the procedure in view to confirm her appointment.
Since one of the major media of expression used by Nigerians has been chained, the Buhari-led administration has deemed it worthy to move for the screening and confirmation of a partisan person as national commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Without mincing words and just as Yinusu Ahmed rightly said, the ban on Twitter operations is yielding results. Citizens are rapidly being silenced.
Now, who dares to stop the appointment of Lauretta Onochie, a card-carrying member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from ward 5 Onicha Olona, Aniocha North Local Government Area Delta State, from becoming a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission?
