Nigerians on Twitter have expressed dissatisfaction over a video showing President Muhammadu Buhari inspecting cows barely hours after the abduction of students in Katsina state.
The abduction occured same day the President arrived at his hometown in Daura, Katsina state.
However, in a video posted on Monday by Sahara Reporters with the timestamp December 12, 2020, the President is seen touring his cattle ranch.
Rather than visiting the school and sympathising with parents, the President sent delegates from Abuja.
This action by the President didn’t go down well with many Nigerians who accused him of being out of touch with the reality in the state.
See some of the reactions that have trailed the President’s action.
‘Fisayo Soyombo @fisayosoyombo:Your president visited cows but couldn’t physically console victims of the latest largescale abduction. Regardless of your party affiliations, if this doesn’t irk you, I hope you realise there’s nothing left of your humanity and you’re gradually becoming a cow yourself!
Reno Omokri@renoomokri:24 hours after Chibok happened, then President @GEJonathan convened a National Secretary Council meeting 24 hours after hundreds of #KankaraStudents were abducted, General #Buhari went to inspect his cows May God save Nigeria from @MBuhari#BringBackOurBoys #RescueKankaraBoys
𝐌 𝐎 𝐇 𝐍 𝐈 𝐂 𝐄 @Mohnice_: The level of Buhari silence now is making one think whether what Kanu said is true The buhari we know would have come out to say nonsense about the kidnapped katsina student for us to rant before going to see his cows. but this buhari is only expressing shock like electricity
YourFavLawyer @jagganiyu: Students were abducted and you’re visiting your cows. Omoooooooo
Antoine C #ENDSARS@c_ofiaeli: Actually, it is not enough to have problems with @MBuhari visiting his cows instead of Kankara which is less than 2 hours from Daura. But what about these people shouting “sai Baba in the background”? Don’t you think that if Buhari contests 3rd term, he’ll still win in 2023?
Seyi @Seyi__:Buhari checking on cows while people are dying and getting kidnapped kilometres away. This is the guy you clowns voted for?
Ebyi Manayi 1 of Africa @thatGbagyiboy: Reports to Buhari: 600 plus children have been kidnapped. Buhari: Nmm? I think I’m shocked. To Buhari: you’re supposed to visit the school and the parents. Buhari: My cows need my attention more. Call delegates from Abuja to visit the school on my behalf.
Ndi Kato@YarKafanchan: 600 boys were kidnapped mere kilometres from where Buhari ran to escape meeting with the National Assembly. Buhari responded by releasing a video of him visiting his cows. You think he cares? You never see anything.
