…Promise protest will hold as planned

As some Nigerians move to stage a protest at the Lekki Tollgate, the Lagos State Police Command embarked on a ‘show of force’ at the Lekki Toll Gate in order to forestall the planned protests.

Some youths who are dissatisfied by the Judicial Panel’s confirmation to reopen the Lekki Toll Gate has planned to #OccupyLekkiTollGate with the aim of seeking justice for the lives and properties lost during the October 20 #Lekkimassacre.

Another group has also rose to #DefendLagos from further destruction. The group plans a counter-protest against the #OccupyLekkiTollGate agitators on the same day, Saturday, February 13, 2021.

Here are some of the pictures from the Lekki Toll Gate as at Friday afternoon.

Despite this ‘show of force’, protestants said they won’t be intimidated and hindered from exercising their right as citizens in a democratic state.
