The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NHISA) has warned Lagos residents to prepare for severe floods in the month of September, so as to put in place necessary measures to mitigate the devastating impact.
The Director-General, NIHSA, Clement Nze, gave this warning during an interview with newsmen on Sunday, 18 July 2021, stating that the floods recorded in many parts of Lagos on Friday, 16 July 2021 may be far grievous than what residents may experience in September.
According to Clement, the peak of the rainy season in Lagos often occurred in September, adding that residents of the state should brace for severe floods by taking all necessary measures now to mitigate the devastating impact.
