He gulped 2 cups of water before going to pray. After praying, he took a nice meal with another cups of cold water.

He made this a routine, unknown to him that the cups of water he had been drinking are harmful to his body system.

Let’s do a short experiment, what happens when you add a very cold water to a warm water? The cold and warm water would struggle to regulate each other.

The human body is the warm water in this case because we are warm blooded with 37 degree Celsius. When you consume chilled water, your body system divert its attention to regulating the foreign body while it is meant to provide necessary energy to other part of the body like the digestive system etc. This is just a simple overview of what Mubarak’s body has been dealing with.

Below are Reasons You must Stop Drinking Cold Water

1)Drinking Ice water causes Indigestion: According to NDTV Food, ice water makes the blood vessels contract, and also affects the proper functioning of the gastric juice which slow down the digestion of food consumed.

2) Cold/ice water dehydrates you more. It never quenches your taste for more water.

3) Cold water causes unnecessary weight increase in the body by solidifying the fats consumed in foods.

4) Drinking cold water also causes sore throat and catarrh. Ice water is one of the major agent of cold and catarrh.

5) Drinking Cold Water Could Decrease Heart Rate: The water you consume stimulates the body system. Drinking iced water also do same, it brings down the body temperature which could make the heart rate decrease.

Here is a video showing what happens in your body system when you drink very cold water.

It is recommended you drink water at room temperature or slightly cold to avoid the above listed health complications.

Remember, health is wealth. As you observe the Ramadan fast, watch your health keenly and avoid taking unhealthy foods and drinks.
