Reactions as Senate Kicks Against Electronic Transmission of Election Results
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Nigerians have aired their views on the Senate position on the electronic transmission of election results.

At the end of the voting held on the floor,  80 senators participated in the poll. 52 APC senators including the chairman of the Senate INEC committee, Kabiru Gaya, voted against the report.

In reaction to the development, some Nigerians on social media have vent their displeasures.

Mazi Asogwa Nnaemeka Snr said: “Partisan and individual interests are placed above the common good. Ironically some of them will still defect to opposition political parties and start crying for free and fair elections.”

Eugene Awoke said: “They did it because they’re aware that rigging themselves in we the poor masses have no other control of them. In another

clime, the masses would seize voting till measures to make their votes count will be put in place.”

Onyishi Ejiofor said: “So that they will continue with their rigging, because they know they won’t win any election, if a free and fair election is allowed.”

JJ Terah said: ” it ill behooves some senators to vote against the improvement of our electoral processes. What’s wrong in adopting technology into our electoral system?”

“They can’t do less, because they know that they can’t win any election in a free and fair situation,” KufreAbasi U. Isaac said.

“Shame!  Rejecting bill for electronic transfer of election results? Avenue for continuous rigging. But they can use electronic transfer to transfer huge millions of money,” Omoleye Ekundayo Moses
