Royal Family To ‘Rally Round’ Queen Following Positive Covid test

The Queen will be “rallied around” by the Royal Family as she is monitored by her medical team after contracting Covid-19.

Senior royals, led by the Prince of Wales – who has only recently recovered from a second bout of the virus – and Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, are expected to take over her duties until the 95-year-old monarch is fully recovered.

Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex and his wife Sophie, and Princess Royal, as well as the Duchess of Cornwall once she has fully recovered from Covid, are all expected to step forward.

Her Majesty is suffering from “mild cold-like symptoms,” according to Buckingham Palace, and will continue “light duties” at Windsor Castle over the next week.

“She will continue to receive medical attention and will adhere to all applicable guidelines,” the statement continued.

“Her Majesty is ably supported by her family,” a senior source said. She will continue to perform light duties but will, of course, listen to her medical team.”

After testing positive on February 10, Charles is said to be in good shape. On February 8, he met his mother.

The Queen was said to be back at her desk, signing off a congratulatory message to the Winter Olympic curling teams, emphasizing the business-as-usual signals.

According to sources, Her Majesty will continue to be closely monitored by her personal medical team.

Sir Huw Thomas, her physician, has previously stated that keeping the Royal Household safe throughout the pandemic is his “top priority.”

The Queen was vaccinated for the first time last year, and she is said to have received all three Covid-19 vaccinations.

The monarch’s health is typically kept strictly private, with only a few details revealed.

Despite contact between mother and son when Prince Charles and Camilla contracted Covid last week, the palace would not even confirm whether the Queen had been tested.

The palace saw the announcement that the Queen has Covid-19 as a significant and positive step.

However, the Palace has stated that there will be no “running commentary” on the Queen’s health.
