School-Girls’ Scholarship: Nigerians Mock Sanwoolu’s Kind Gestures
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s effort to return two out-of-school girls to the classroom has been ridiculed by social media users.

The Governor, on his way to formally launch a Social Welfare Integrated Programme (SWIP) Initiative, had seen 9-year-old Amarachi Chinedu and 12-year-old Suwebat Husseini, 12, running errands during school hours around Anthony Village in Lagos State.

Sanwo-Olu got to know that the underaged children had skip school because of domestic responsibilities they had to offer.

Narrating his experience at the launch, Sanwo-Olu said, “It is needless to ask what brought their parents to Lagos. We must ensure they are not robbed of their future.

“There are several Amarachis and Suwebats out there, who will not have this kind of opportunity. These girls didn’t ask to be in the circumstance they found themselves, but it is our responsibility to be able to give them the future they deserve; the opportunity that will make them better children to their family and better citizens of this country.”

OAP cum media practitioner, Sandra Ezekwesili said,

Please if you see a child carrying 20kg of water on their head and you want to speak with them, please help them put the water down. Don't stand there, for long minutes, under sun. If possible, carry the water for them to their house. In your car. No need to add to their torture.

These are sad photos.

Vividly depicts that he was given FOUR years opportunity to change the lives of those girls but didn’t.

How did Lagos State improve under the governorship of Sanwoolu?

Sanwoolu >>>> Odun Adekola

See the way everything looks real

Sanwoolu has been making a ridicule Lagosians and Lagos residents for years. If it’s not banning bike-hailing after endorsing them, it’s saying that people should roll up their glasses to avoid getting robbed or suddenly acting shocked by the sight of out-of-school kids.

— A. Onafuye (@FunkeOnafuye) February 3, 2022

You can't solve the problem of out of school children by going from street to street to snap with innocent girls. You have to come up with a solid plan and proper implementation. Sanwoolu should ask Seyi Makinde how he reduced the number of out of school children in Oyo State.

After his inglorious reign, I suggest Governor Babajide Sanwoolu should consider a career in the Nollywood industry. He would make a great actor. pic.twitter.com/GmCt5VQDdh

— FESTUS OGUN (@mrfestusogun) February 4, 2022

Sanwoolu wants to educate two children out of the thousands of out of school children. And for that he is making a show? Does he know how many children each of us ordinary citizens are educating because his party APC and government in Lagos has failed to provide proper schools?

— Babasola Kuti Jr. 🇬🇧 🇳🇬 (@RealSolaKuti) February 3, 2022

Sanwoolu didn’t the Tunde Kelani in your crew tell you that there was supposed to be a moment where you will help these girls remove the load from their head, at least? Sack him and increase your photographers paycheque. He understood the assignment https://t.co/2HEtQ0XhQk
