School Shut After Proprietress Beat 19-month-old To Death For Wetting Uniform

The Delta state government has shut down Arise and Shine Nursery and Primary School, Asaba following the report that the Proprietress beat a 19-month-old toddler to death.

It was gathered that the deceased fell into a coma after receiving 31 strokes of the cane from the proprietor, simply identified as Mrs. Ogbo.

The baby’s hands and legs were also tied before he was flogged at the school located at camp 74, off Amaechi Nwora lane, in Asaba, Oshimili South local government Area of Delta State.

The Delta state Commissioner for Primary Education, Chika Ossai, disclosed that the school was operating illegally and was not recognized by the state.

The Commissioner sympathized with the family of the deceased, saying the state would leave no stone unturned in investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The proprietress has since been arrested by the police.
