Anthonio Rudiger has apologised to Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne for being responsible for his premature exit off the pitch last Saturday.
The Chelsea centre back made the apology via his Twitter handle; he said:
“I’m really sorry for @DeBruyneKev’s injury. Of course this was not intentional from me – I’ve already been in touch with Kevin personally and I really wish him a speedy recovery & hope we can see him back on the pitch very soon again.”
During the second half of the UEFA Champions League between Chelsea and Man City, Rudiger collided with De Bruyne as he tried to head for the Chelsea goal post.
The collision led to De Bruyne’s premature exit due to the injury sustained in the nose and his left eye, while Rudiger was given a Yellow card.
